How to Choose Your Herb Grinder

With a growing collection of herb grinders on offer, how do you go about choosing the best grinder? Ultimately, your choice of grinder will come down to how often you smoke, how long you aim to keep the grinder, whether your grinder is kept in one place or moved around a lot, and your overall preference in the way of aesthetics. Most grinders come in three materials: acrylic or plastic, wood, and metal. Each type has its pros and cons. To help you get a better idea of which is the best herb grinder for you, we've prepared a comparison of each type of grinder.

Choosing the Ideal Herb Grinder

How do you know which herb grinder to choose? Here are some things to think about when shopping for grinders here at Puff.

Acrylic

Acrylic grinders come in a variety of colours, shapes, and designs. Some of the acrylic grinders in our range include clear grinders, golf ball grinders, smiley face grinders, and various others. Although these are often the most affordable grinders, they are not the most durable. If they are dropped, they can crack. Over time, they can also get scratched, which can make it easier for the grinder to contaminate your weed. If you choose one of these, you could use it as a back-up grinder or you could replace it as soon as it starts to look a bit worse for wear.

Wood

Wood grinders look cool and come in a range of designs, including carved lids. These grinders are stronger than acrylic grinders if they are dropped and will last many years. Over time, wood can begin to show signs of wear. While some will see that as having unique character, others may not. They can also be a bit of a mission to clean - a  good steel cleaning brush will make sure that your wooden grinder stays clean.

Metal

Metal grinders are the strongest choice. As metal is smooth, there is less risk of cracks and scratches developing over time. Another upside to metal is that they are durable and will last for many years. There are many different designs, including simple metal grinders, glass and aluminium grinders, and funky designs such as Pokemon and poker chip grinders.

Each type of grinder will get the job done. If you are an occasional smoker, you won't have to worry about long-term damage. If you are a regular smoker, it is best to go with a longer-lasting grinder. This will ensure that your herb grinder doesn't let you down.
